Nothing Beats Red, White and Blue

By Janice Ferguson
GPA Style Editor

Nothing says summer fashion more than the colors of crisp white, classic navy blue and a pop of nautical red. The combination inspires a boatload of pleasant thoughts - ocean breezes, sandy beaches, sunny days, barbeques, and long vacations.

We've fallen hook, line and sinker for the season's golf apparel and accessories sporting red, white and blue forever.

Keri Golf: The Newport collection of cart, stand and tote bags are inspired by coastal living and constructed using new lightweight nylon fabrications. The pieces are accented with contrasting colors, patent leather trims and gold hardware.

Solid red, bold geometric navy and white, and a more delicate navy and white print bag capture the essence of summer fun and relaxation.

The cart bags ($335) feature a tiered pocket system on one side for even more organization, while the stand bags ($335) are highlighted by the IZZO dual strap system for extreme comfort. Each also comes with a detachable zip bag to carry personal items to and from the clubhouse, and a customizable bag tag. The line's matching headcovers ($60) complete the look and are available in sets of four to meet the needs of today's hybrid golf clubs.

Coordinating totes ($115) feature two large internal pockets, a cell phone compartment, a clip to keep keys accessible and a specific space for sunglasses.

Ralph Lauren Polo Golf: Iconic Americana, Polo never fails to deliver the chic yacht look and colors to its golf clothes.

The men's Links short ($79.50) in Newport navy and antique cream are classic fitting tailored in preppy cotton madras pattern for lightweight comfort. Make a splash and top the shorts with short sleeved, pro-fit mercerized Pima cotton mesh polo ($90) in British red. The shirt has a navy chevron stripe with white color and is cut for a trim, athletic fit that moves with the body.

For women, Ralph Lauren's rope belt ($225) in sliver, white and black color ways is an ideal seafaring accessory. The stylish belt is made in Italy and given a contemporary nautical edge with leather trim and modern slide buckle.

Trek comfortably to and from the course in an elegant pair of Karly jelly sandals ($195) in red, navy or silver. The flat thong has brass details and a versatile solid rubber base that will take you from the clubhouse to the boat dock and all latitudes in between. www.ralphlauren.com

Dunning Sportswear: Performance woven square check long sleeve shirts ($125) in red and surf blue are made from 43 percent Coolmax polyester, 35 percent cotton and 22 percent polyester. They feature permanent moisture management, a classic look, fit and feel with technical performance and ultra lightweight construction.

Layer over a pique vintage slim fit polo ($89) made from 100 percent technical polyester with 1960's style tailoring for the ultra classic country club look. Available in red, black and navy the shirt has moisture management, breathability and anti-microbial features with contrast interior neck taping and 2-piece self collar. www.dunningsportswear.com
