Glove It gets it

There are more than great products that make the Glove It brand of golf accessories successful. One of them is a passionate and determined individual named Karen Lovcik, who puts her heart, soul and mind into making her company thrive.

What began as a whim after a golf outing with girlfriends in 2001, led Lovcik to put her design experience to work and create Glove It, LLC, to fulfill the need for functional yet fashionable golf gloves and other accessories.

An Arizona State University Fashion Merchandising graduate, Lovcik has come full circle, basing Glove It headquarters in Tempe, Ariz., after living and working in New York City. She also owned Regalia Accessory Company for 18 years, where she traveled worldwide buying and designing clothing and
accessories.

Today Glove It is a leading manufacturer for women's and junior's fashionable golf gloves, visors, caps, accessory bags, tote bags, water bottle covers, club covers, racquet covers, towels, belts and shoe bags. The well-coordinated product line features fun prints and styles from traditional argyles to popular animal prints.

"I believe that accessories are the key essential elements for expressing your personal style, and found that there were no stylish golf accessories for the fashion-conscious player," said Lovcik. "Golf is a game, and for me that translates to having fun and enjoying the beautiful surroundings, great friends and lots of laughs. Why not take the time to accessorize your outfit on the course just as you would off course?"

There are approximately 25 Glove It designs and eight Nicole Miller prints, with new 2009 collections that include Ginger Tile, Silver Scroll, Stained Glass, Navy Hibiscus and Peapod prints. Prices range from $13.95 for visors to $69.95 for club covers and all points in between, making a solo item or a combination of accessories the perfect tournament gift for a range of budgets.

Glove It is also the exclusive golf licensee for renowned fashion designer, Nicole Miller. The Nicole Miller Golf collection rounds out the product line with unique "conversational" prints consisting of martinis, and whimsical golf related prints. A portion of sales from the award winning Pink Ribbon collection has enabled Glove It to donate more than $25,000 to breast cancer research. This year the line expanded with the addition of golf bags.

"The appeal of the Nicole Miller collection is how versatile our accessories are fusing sport, leisure and fashion to fit into everyone's active lifestyles - from golf to tennis, from walking to biking or just hanging out by the pool," said Lovick. "I am not an avid golfer but believe all fashion minded sport enthusiasts appreciate adding a little zest to their game."

While great designs and quality products are important aspects to the success of Glove It, the vision and energy Lovcik brings to every detail of her business is the driving force for that success.

"The new buzz word for smart, savvy shopper now is recessionista," adds Lovcik, "and Glove It definitely fits the need for affordable retail therapy for the stylish golfer.
