Whether an accepted trend or not, the addition of urban golf wear to our style assortment continues to seep into the marketplace. The look is a bit more outdoorsy and sportier than what might be expected. And, no, not quite baggie pants hung off the derrière with underwear showing.
Athleta's Roll Up pant |
Athleta's Run Up Roll Up pant and Scramble skort have a definite cargo-look to them, which means ample pockets, and for our game, that's good. They're made to be a little rougher than mainstream golf clothing -- constructed from a super-durable stretch cotton rip-stop fabric, both the pant and skort are semi-fitted and breathable.
The pant does just what it says -- rolls up and converts to capris with a button tab closure to hold the pant leg in place. This versatility is exactly what is needed for transitioning into the fall season. Six total pockets include two front carpenter style pockets, one zip tee pocket, a left leg zip pocket, and two rear snap closure pockets.
Athleta's Scramble skort |
The Scramble skort is a straight skirt with a full fabric short underneath, and has two front ball pockets -- one with a zip closure -- and a rear kick pleat for additional ease of movement. Make special note of the fun contrast print detail on the internal waistband.
Both come in light khaki and black, even sizes 2-14. The pant is $79 and skort $64. Mix and match pieces by pairing the bottoms with Athleta's bogie snap-down, breathable top with chest pocket and left-sleeve tee holster in black, white, orchid, brunette, and pink for $64.
Street fashion magazines are splattered with the fall fashion trend of shiny, shinier and shiniest. Metal hues, flashy gold, glossy silver and buffed bronze in metallics, patents, and animal-inspired prints are updating the season's accessories.
Bogner's gold pharaoh spikeless golf shoe | These looks are not often seen in golf fashion, but there's always an exception to that rule. Bogner's gold pharaoh spikeless golf or street shoe is that exception.
The bright gold fashion statements have full grain leather uppers, beige suede trim, padded mesh around the sock, a slip resistant formed heel, removable leather insoles and outsoles that provide traction on the course. They also transition easily to street wear.
It's safe to say you will get noticed -- no guarantees on being treated like a pharaoh, though.
The gold Bogner shoe is made in Italy, and sells for $379, exclusively at Lady Golf.
Not quite ready for summer to be over? Try taking something sunny and cheery into fall with the new Ame & Lulu bamboo and snorkel lines of golf accessories.
Ame & Lulu's Endless Summer print | Appropriately called Endless Summer, the colorful prints are available on head covers, tee bags, shoe bags, totes, belts, key chains and boxed sets that take tournament gifting up a notch from the norm.
The shoe bags are the perfect carrying case for golf, tennis or athletic shoes, and they're machine washable. Soft-sided totes have a convenient exterior tee holder, and are large enough to handle the essentials, yet sized to easily hang in the locker. Tee bags clip right onto the golf bag, and fit a cell phone -- the one you'll remember to turn off, right?
Put a finishing touch on the accessory ensemble with a matching D-ring belt also that is also constructed with tee holders. In addition to the new green bamboo and blue snorkel patterns, choose from others like pink tweed, veranda stripe, chocolate paisley and blue toile with nutmeg.
Embroidery is available on some products for a nominal extra charge. Prices range from $12 for key chains to $100 for head covers.
