All Tied Up And No Where to Go

How annoying is it to walk across a golf green, glance down and see your shoelaces untied? Very. And even more so when LLS (Loose Lace Syndrome) occurs numerous times throughout the round.

We could blame a lousy shot on the fact our feet couldn't possibly have been secure if our shoelaces were undone -- causing a dramatic shift in weight, ultimately causing an imbalance with our stance, and resulting in a complete miss-hit. Yeah, that'll work.

And please don't say, "tie them in double knots."

We are adults playing golf, not kindergartners on their first day of school, and frankly, we've earned the right to not worry about such things anymore.

Well, you can save the bow tying for all those holiday presents, because FootJoy has made a breakthrough in golf shoe technology -- unknotting, so to speak, those laces forever. Their ReelFit shoes feature the innovative Boa Lacing System that provides a snug fit and tremendous stability. ReelFit shoes will help keep your feet secure throughout the golf swing and while walking between shots.

No more retying your shoes, and no more blaming them either.

The Boa Lacing System is typically found in ski boots and snowboard footwear, but is exclusive to FootJoy in the golf industry. The system is easy to use -- simply turn the dial on the back of the shoes to tighten, and pull out the dial for quick release and removal of your shoes.

There is very little readjusting necessary -- once you've found the right fit, the shoes aren't going anywhere without your lead.

"The ReelFit shoes have been engineered to provide an unparalleled fit and stable hitting platform" said Jack Erickson, vice president of golf footwear, FootJoy Worldwide. "The Boa Lacing System envelops your feet resulting in a consistent fit that shoes with laces simply can not duplicate."

The lack of shoelace bows puts a bit of an athletic looking spin to a traditional, yet stylish golf shoe. The ReelFits come in three-color ways -- brown or black crosshatch on a smooth white leather upper, and all black.

In addition to the new lacing system, ReelFits also have premium waterproof ECL (Extreme Comfort Leather), full leather linings, cushioned PU Fit-Beds, GelCollar with IntelliTemp cooling, high-performance outsoles, and strategically placed OptiFlex under the forefoot.

Feel free to tie a bow around them because with all of those high-tech features and a suggested retail price of $225, they would make a nice surprise for him under the tree this season.
